MKOS Assistant support center.

Setup guides, troubleshooting, and direct support contact for users of the Chrome extension and MatKaiOS web portal.

Quick start

  1. Install MKOS Assistant from Chrome Web Store.
  2. Open the side panel and sign in with your MatKaiOS account.
  3. Select a model provider in Config (OpenAI / Gemini / Ollama local).
  4. Run a first command in Chat to confirm routing and response.
  5. Optional: use Dashboard to review sessions, prompt library, and custom actions.

Permissions and security notes

  • storage: saves your local extension preferences and state.
  • activeTab and scripting: run user-invoked actions on the active tab only.
  • tabs: required for controlled tab operations triggered by user actions.
  • sidePanel: renders MKOS Assistant inside Chrome side panel.
  • optional host permissions: requested when Web Tools, Mission Mode, or future Browser Mode needs access to the active site or broader web context.
  • browser access can be declined or revoked in Chrome extension settings; features that depend on page access may stop working afterward.

Extension opens but appears blank

Reload the extension in chrome://extensions, then hard refresh the current tab. If issue persists, disable conflicting extensions and reopen the side panel.

Provider responds with errors

Check API key, model name, endpoint, and region limits. For local Ollama, verify the local runtime is running and reachable on your configured host.

Session or sync data missing

Confirm account login in both Extension and web, then refresh Dashboard. If your data still does not appear, send account email + timestamp to support.

Web Tools or special mode unavailable

Some experimental capabilities are intentionally limited by feature flags or model compatibility. Use standard Web Search path when operator mode is disabled.
